10 years after hubby Alec Baldwin left her for a much younger woman, Meryl Streep hooks up with her ex at their son’s graduation, launching an affair while she’s wooed by an equally wealthy man- an architect played by Steve Martin.
Streep and Baldwin have great chemistry and they both make it all look so easy but I found myself more enamored with Streep’s gorgeous California home and gardens and all the food porn (yes- again, Streep is queen of the kitchen for the 2nd time this year- except this time she makes only decadent desserts). I was so taken with her kitchen, I couldn’t believe she spent the whole movie planning to remodel what I already thought was the perfect culinary domain!!!
The only nudity is Alec Baldwin’s bare butt – and he used a tush double.
Bottom line: Not as good as Director Nancy Meyers’ last middle aged love story : “Something’s Gotta Give” with Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson and Hollywood’s favorite cougar-bait, Keanu Reeves.
